Quorum, in line with the ages-old Portuguese tradition of journeying around the world, travelled to China and into this new production bringing their chests full of references, influences, expectations, knowledge and history. This piece will reveal the crossroads of our stories and those of the Chinese artists we encounter and work with. This exciting journey and meeting will provide the creative spark for our work.

This performance, like the original Ballet Russes’ production, seeks to break with tradition - being the tradition here Stravinsky's musical piece and Nijinsky's choreography. The Rite Of Spring will be the territory where Portugal and China, Portuguese and Chinese artists, shall meet, in a choral performance that in the final part of the performance takes key inspiration from the Qin Shi Huang’s Terracotta Army.
